The facilitators are -
Sheila Ryan writing facilitator: Focus on mindfulness and on art-play; awakening our sensory responses to the landscape, writing it down, story making, telling and revisions.
Sarah Gilpin Sculpture facilitator: Mark making on paper and in stone inspired by wilderness, sculpture, story making, and play……..choose your own chunk of Portland stone, get messy with clay draw or paint.
Walk from hut to hut, pick up a pen/camera, make marks, move rocks!….. dollops of encouragement + expert individual guidance. Stone, tools, mark making materials and a delicious lunch provided: bring your own camera, journal and sketchbook.
Come to our Island Workshops at The Sculpture Hut and The Writers Hut; walk the cliff paths, nooks and crannies; the pebble beach; the old quarries and rock shelves. ..
Stay at the Portland Bird Observatory near the sculpture hut or at Church Ope Studio near the writers hut. The former offers hostel style accommodation in with a fabulous view; the later offers self contained accommodation for 2/3 people. We can also recommend nearby B&B’s if you prefer.
Small groups. £95 per person per day: contact us to make a date. We suggest a weekend or midweek break of 3/4 days to get the most out of your visit.
